CHECK OUT THE LAST NIGHT OF THE LOMO DETRICH SHOW TONIGHT
Story & photos by Emily Whalen
The Diana F+ Camera has gathered a cult-like following. The accidental, over-exposed images the camera creates are a refreshing and unique change in our world of pristene and clear images. The camera is 50-years-old this year, and has been a great vintage style piece that works both as a camera and an accessory. From French fashion brand Colette to the MoMA, the Diana has been customized by many great names and is well known around the world.
Currently on at Toronto’s Lomography store is a great little exhibit of the Detrich collection – a collection of Diana F+ cameras from around the world, plus Customized Clones (Diana F+ cameras as designed by Canadian artists), and also photographs that were submitted by various Canadian photographers.
Get the final look at the Detrich collection and make your last-minute bids on the Customized Clones (all money goes to the artist’s selected charity) tonight at the Lomography Store. The Lomo team promises live entertainment, snacks, booze and free gifts. The event is free and open to the public.
RSVP to shoptoronto@lomography.com to attend. Who knows, perhaps you’ll pick up a Diana camera for yourself, and stop taking those played out Instagrams at every party.
