THE NEW SPIN ON YOUR NIGHT OUT

A usual night out in Toronto consists of going for drinks, hitting the dance floor or checking out a live band, right? Well, at SPiN you get something totally different. With 12 ping pong tables, two bars, a full food menu and a private party room, it’s definitely not the “same old, same old”.

You can check out SPiN for nightly events, tournaments or just a casual game of ping pong and some drinks. SPiN officially opened September 15th, but hosted an official opening party on October 5th. The place was packed with serious pongers, including champion table tennis player and model Soo Yeon Lee, and SPiN founders Franck Raharinosy, Jonathan Bricklin, Andrew Gordon and Susan Sarandon (yes, THE Susan Sarandon).

SPiN Toronto is the latest addition to the SPiN Galactic collection of ping pong social clubs, with other locations in New York, Milwaukee and a location in St. Petersburg set to open soon. You can purchase a yearly membership which gets you discounted table rentals, reservation abilities as well as discounts; otherwise, a table rental ranges from $20-$28 an hour, depending on when you want to play. And not only will you find staff behind the bar at SPiN, but you’ll also see ball boys and girls collecting fly balls and bringing them back to your table (which means you don’t have to go searching for that overzealous shot you let go).

You can partake in some snacks to share from the bar, and choose from their long list of beers on tap, cocktails or wines. The vibe at SPiN is as much about the socializing as the ping ponging, so check it out for something new to do on a Saturday night, or for your regular drinks and hang out mid-week with friends.

Ping pong lovers and newbies alike can check out SPiN at 461 King St. W. and on Twitter @SPiN_Toronto.
