A DANGEROUS MIND & A BEAUTIFUL WARDROBE

LABEL Clothing designers Shawna Robinson and Natalie Sydoruk excel at creating functional, cool pieces that would slip seamlessly into any girl-on-the-go’s closet.

Their collection for Fall, entitled “A Dangerous Mind”, was inspired by the darkness within all of us – highlighted in a fashion film directed by Heratics, in which model Danielle Tummon takes a Rorschach test, cracks a whip, cries a little and laughs to herself. A little unnerving but a welcome change from the usual film fodder we’re used to (model happily strolls down the street; model sits, looking aloof).

The pieces themselves were much more grounded in reality, the only hint of humour found in a print reminiscent of a Rorschach’s mirrored glimpse of madness.  But the sombre tone of the collection worked, the well-crafted silhouettes and subtle detailing (a leather trim here, a pussy bow neckline there) creating a cohesive set of looks from which you could pull one piece or many and have plenty to work with. All your style predilections should be very satisfied.
