WIN A LIMITED EDITION LOMOKINO CAMERA & THE CHANCE TO SCREEN YOUR MOVIE THIS SEPTEMBER

Story by Odessa Paloma Parker

Running from September 7th to the 17th, the Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) is an interesting take on your typical screen spectacle. TUFF shows 1-minute silent movies in a very public venue – the subway platforms of Toronto – to a very wide audience. With 300 screens spread across 60 stations, that’s a lot of exposure for those with lofty ambitions of auteurism.

Lomography has made it a little more fun to get your name on the little (big) screen by partnering with TUFF for a LomoKino-specific contest. LomoKino cameras are the brand’s super cute, very retro moving picture takers, and if you make a movie on one and submit it to TUFF by July 30th, it could be shown in the special Lomokino screening taking place on September 16th.

The prizes? Lots of Lomography’s coveted “Piggy” points (which lead to online product purchase discounts), film packs, and a chance at winning an exclusively released LomoKino MUBI camera. Each camera comes with a free one-month subscription to the movie platform, MUBI, plus a film strip from Palme D’Or winner Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s LomoKino movie, Ashes. And five lucky filmmakers will have the chance to showcase their efforts during TUFF.
