For their September art exhibit, Steam Whistle Gallery is focusing on music, specifically rock n’ roll. The gallery’s Rock n’ Roll Art Show features the works of artists and Brooke Opatowski, and will be on display from September 5th until the beginning of October.

Hiltz and Opatowski have taken Bruce Cole’s iconic photographs of famous rock n’ rollers (including Tina Turner, Elton John and Bob Dylan) and transformed them. The legendary Bruce Cockburn received an abstract make-over from Hiltz, who took his photograph and gave it new life with strokes of blue, yellow and red paint and cheerful yellow flowers (pictured above). Music and art are fused together in this collaborative exhibit, each part giving the other a new sense of vitality and meaning.
