FOR HIS NEW COLLECTION THE DESIGNER ASKS, “WHAT’S YOUR COLOUR?”

Choosing to showcase his new accessories collection in his adorable Ossington Avenue shop rather than give a full-fledged fashion show presentation, Philip Sparks called upon fans and fashion insiders to get an up close and personal glimpse of what S/S13 will bring for his line.

What was seen was signature Sparks – pops of primary colour gave plenty of personality to the classic, well-made range of bags, belts and footwear. This collection marks the introduction of women’s footwear to Sparks’ label, and the dainty high-heeled sandals and quirky flats (jazz shoes, anyone?) were a perfect blend of the designer’s homage to vintage fashion and modern wearability. You could easily see yourself slipping any of the iPad cases, loafers or totes into your usual rotation of accessories, their brass hardware and canvas composition giving the confidence that these pieces are built to last.

Most special about the line, though, was the ingenious addition of a “personal touch” that will be afforded to Sparks’ clientele; the bags, created with pieces of leather, can be created with different colour combinations based on the customer’s preference.

Choice, quality and comfort – three trademarks of a successful accessories line that the Philip Sparks label has in spades.
